Childcare Provider & Owner
I'm a mom of three amazing little ladies. I started Dilley Beans Daycare in 2015 because of a strong desire to spend more time with my first child and hopefully have more children. Having trusted someone else with my daughter for the first two years, I learned what I wanted and needed from a care provider. I wanted a loving caregiver that offered more than everyone else: a clean home, healthy food options, kid-friendly activities that incorporate nature and stretch the imagination, an organized and structured environment, affordable, and most of all dependable! I base my childcare on what I was looking for in a provider. I believe in focusing early childhood education around five simple core values: Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Responsibility & Service. I find every opportunity to incorporate these into our lessons and daily activities.
I am originally from the Forest Grove area. Raised in Cornelius, I attended Echo Shaw Elementary and Forest Grove High School. I couldn't wait to move back to our beautiful community once I completed college. I have two Bachelor's of Science from Oregon State University where I graduated with honors, Cum Laude. I live with my husband, Tom, on our family farm, Carpenter Creek Ranch. We purchased our farm house and 20 acres in 2009. Our property is the former home of the L Bar T Bison Ranch herd of American Bison. When Tom's parents retired from bison ranching we started restoring the pastures with native forage and raising another unique bovine, the Miniature Zebu. We also maintain a herd of milking miniature goats, pigs, and a menagerie of poultry. We grow a large garden including asparagus, various berries, heritage apples and other fruit trees. Harvest is a fun time for all as we get to enjoy the fruits, and vegetables, of our labors. These are activities I share with the children because the best tasting berry is the one you picked yourself!
My Credentials:
I have two Bachelor's of Science from Oregon State University and Step 10 on the Oregon Registry Online. I am certified in CPR and First Aid, have my Oregon Food Handler's License, and continue my education with more than 20 hours of developmentally appropriate courses annually. My husband and I are both qualified childcare providers and registered with the Central Background Registry. We comply with all state certification regulations for experience, education, training, continuing education and background registration.
